Simply slide the disc/hub assembly onto the shaft, attach the necessary bolts and your HP brake is ready to go. Perfect for new applications or as an application upgrade/retrofit.

Montalvo’s signature high thermal capacity discs combined with the patented fin design ensures maximum heat dissipation extending the performance & service life of your HP Tension Brake.

V Pad Compatible
HP Tension Brakes are available with Standard Pads or the “tool-less, snap-out, snap-in” V-Pads for rapid brake pad changes.

Low Maintenance
HP Tension Brakes are designed to maximize your productivity and when combined with Montalvo’s V-Pads, maintenance/pad changes are measured in seconds not minutes.

Wide Torque Range
HP Tension Brakes are available in six different models to give you the precise torque requirements your application requires, whether it’s only 2.2 in-lb or all the way up to 51,120 in-lb.

The HP6 Model of Tension Brakes is capable of providing up to 3,000 in-lb of torque depending on the amount and style of friction pads used. The chart below displays the relative torque output based on the number of friction pads (1-4) and the friction pad coefficient.
